Parent Information – (Please read)
We are excited that you would like to register your youth for Winterama this year! Before you register your youth, there are a few things you need to know and understand. First, Camp Bethel is no longer on top of the Big Horn Mountains. The Camp Bethel Board voted to relocate the camp off federal land and move it to private land due to an ever-changing world.
On April 9th, Camp Bethel purchased the former Shell Creek Ranch, and then relocated the ministry there on May 17th. The new location is 40 miles west of the old location at the base of the Big Horn Mountains, on the west side of the mountain. Our new address is:
1710 US HWY 14 E
Shell, Wy 82441
(The Camp Bethel sign that hung under the old entrance now hangs under the new entrance)
Our phone number and email addresses remain the same. We are still the same old Camp Bethel and still operate with the same staff and camp board; we have just simply relocated the ministry.
Second, Winterama will be a little different this year. Our new facility doesn’t have any cabins for youth to sleep in currently. Once the old camp sells, the funds from the sale will first pay off our $350,000 debt we still have for the new camp (God provided a million dollars which we put down on the new camp), and then the remaining funds will go towards building the new youth camp here.
Note: If you would like to help financially, any donations to help us pay off the debt and build the new camp are greatly appreciated and tax deductible. Donations can be mailed to us or made on our website.
You will need to check-in and pick up your youth here at the new Camp Bethel (reference new address above), and we will transport the campers to the First Baptist Church in Basin (approx. 24 miles from camp) to sleep. Daytime activities will be held here at the new camp in Shell, weather permitting. All transportation will be provided by Camp Bethel to FBC and any activities away from the camp. If weather and road conditions allow, we may take the Winterama II group up the mountain for sledding. Otherwise, activities will take place here at Camp Bethel.
Check-in time here at our new camp is 3:00 pm for each of the Winterama Camps, and pick-up time will be 2:00 pm for both camps, as well.
